EFL Collective shares with you a new economical worksheet for teaching reading to your elementary or pre-intermediate classes. The text is adapted from Speakout Elementary CourseBook.
Suggested Procedure:
For review, you can have your students do vocabulary tasks, especially exercise 1A. Through this exercise, you can have your students speak about healthy and unhealthy eating habits as they try to justify why those types of food, drinks, and practices are good or bad for health.
Pre-reading:
You can simply discuss the pictures with your students, focusing on how those practices can help one live healthily.
While-reading:
In the first reading, the students check if the texts mention any of the ideas they discussed earlier. The students the texts again to do C.
Post-reading:
The students answer questions 1 and 2 in D. You can allow them some time to take notes before they speak.
