This is an adapted interesting listening lesson from Speakout Pre-intermediate Coursebook.

Skill (s): Listening (main skill) and writing (sub-skill);

Title: Secret Talents;

Timing: 40 minutes or less.

Level: Pre-intermediate

Suggested Procedure

Pre-listening stage: The students read the advertisement and discuss what it is about.

While-listening stage: The students listen first to say what Ralph and Carly's secret talents are. Later on, they listen again to complete the chart. Then, they compare their answers.

Post-listening: With the help of the example they have in the handout, the students write/speak about their secret talents if they have any. If not, they can write/speak about the talents they wish they had and say why.
